essex barn conversion
This Essex barn conversion presented a brief that required cabinetry capable of sitting comfortably within the existing agricultural architecture of the property. The original timber frame, exposed beams, and vaulted ceiling of the barn set the parameters for every design decision: the collection, the finish, the door profile, and the hardware all needed to read as part of the building rather than as an addition to it.
The kitchen was specified from the Clive Christian Architectural Collection, chosen for the range’s clean framing, recessed panelling, and the depth of finish options available at specification stage. The commission included the kitchen and additional fitted interiors across the property, with each room addressed as part of a coherent whole rather than as standalone installations. The Essex Barn Conversion demonstrates the adaptability of Clive Christian cabinetry in non-standard residential contexts, where the architecture sets conditions that a standard kitchen range cannot meet. Bespoke Utility Room
Clive Christian London designed a separate utility room with matching painted cabinetry adjacent to the kitchen. In addition to Miele appliances, a bespoke coat and boot cupboard was neatly integrated with the cabinetry.
